GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — President Barack Obama on Saturday criticized what he termed as the “scare tactics” of opponents to health care reform. He told a town hall meeting “what is truly scary is if we do nothing” to solve the nation’s health care problems.

Obama said Americans no longer should be “held hostage by health insurance companies” that deny coverage for various reasons.

And he attempted to deflect some of the sharpest criticism of the health care bill before Congress from those who say it would mean government control over health care system.

“I don’t want government bureaucrats meddling in our health care – but the point is I don’t want insurance companies’ bureaucrats meddling in our health care either,” Obama declared, unleashing a cheer from the audience.

Obama’s focus on insurance companies, a theme of earlier town hall meetings in Montana and New Hampshire as well in recent days, was an attempt to regain the upper hand in the health care debate and deflect the impact of increasing vocal and organized critics.

The president said the current health care system and the policies of insurance companies are “hurting too many families and businesses.” And he vowed to change that, predicting health care reform legislation will be passed by Congress this year.

“Because we’re getting close, the fight is getting fierce” critics are fighting back with by trying “to scare the American people. “Because of all the scare tactics out there, what is truly scary is if we do nothing,” he said.

Okay, okay, we give up. No pubic option!! We promise.

I have nothing against Laura Bush. As far as I am concerned, she is a fine human being and was a good First Lady. My problem is with the hypocrites on the right who send around viral emails slamming Michelle Obama, right wing bloggers and astroturfers who promote it, and media who parrot it.

Canada Free Press posted a story in July, which claimed:

There has never been anyone in the White House at any time that has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the first lady’s social life. One wonders why she needs so much help at taxpayer expense when even Hillary, only had three, Jackie Kennedy one, Laura Bush one and, prior to Mamie Eisenhower, social help came from the president’s own pocket.

Canada Free Press, the World Nut Daily of Canada, published its story on July 7. World Nut Daily quoted from it on August 4. Last week the Canada Free Press piece was quoted in full in the Tampa Tribune.

John Stossel of 20/20 quoted the CFP on August 13.

He spoke with Obama’s press secretary and Bush’s chief of staff:

Katie McCormick Lelyveld, Ms. Obama’s press secretary, told us Laura Bush had just as many people working for her.

We called Anita McBride, former chief of staff to Laura Bush. She confirmed that.

We asked them, why so many people?

McBride says that more staffers are needed as the first ladies’ global responsibilities grow. She pointed out that Mrs. Bush traveled to Afghanistan and Africa, advancing President Bush’s health program.

FactCheck also looked into this:

Lelyveld said that Michelle Obama’s staff was actually no different than that of her predecessor, Laura Bush. “We have exactly the same staff number as Mrs. Bush and our office organization reflects a similar staffing model, so insinuations otherwise are wrong,” she said. Lelyveld said that the White House’s “personnel records indicate” that there were 24 staffers for Laura Bush at some point. We were able to verify at least 18 staffers for Laura Bush, as of June 30, 2008, via the 2008 White House staff list published in The Washington Post’s White House Watch column. Sixteen people were specifically referred to as a “first lady” staffer, and Amy Zantzinger and Dorothy Thornton served as White House social secretary and deputy social secretary, respectively. It’s possible that someone with the title of “staff assistant” was assigned to the Office of First Lady as well, as is the case with Michelle Obama’s staff.

The combined annual salaries for the 22 staffers we can specifically identify as working for Michelle Obama come to $1.6 million. For the 18 we could identify as working for Laura Bush in 2008, the total is $1.4 million.

The Right Wing Noise Machine is out in force: here, here,
here, here, here—well, you get the idea.

Where were they the past eight years when the FLOTUS was a white lady?

Not satisfied with fomenting treason, mutiny and insurrection, domestically, she (or her disbarred lawyer ghost writer) now asks that foreign governments join her insane mission to take down a democratically elected President of the United States.

I’ve noticed that there is an army of gate keepers, clerks, magistrates, aids to congressmen and senators. These aids usually keep their bosses ill informed or uninformed. Unfortunately there is a similar situation in other countries, including Israel. I was looking forward to a meeting with the minister of foreign affairs of Israel Avigdor Liberman, however his gate keeper, political advisor and buro chief Sharon Shalom felt that it would not be a good idea for Israel to get involved with the internal affairs and constitutionality of Obama. I have to admit it was a disappointment. If people would’ve got involved in the thirties in Germany, 65 million people around the world wouldn’t have died, including 6 million Jews who were burned in Auschwitz and Dahau.

What do I mean by being involved? Any ambassador from any country can bring an action in the Supreme Court of the United States under Original jurisdiction. It will speed up the process tremendously. Please, try to find an ambassador or consul, who would be willing to bring an action. He will not state that Obama needs to be removed. He will state that before any treaties are signed with his country, he wants to see the proof that the treaty is signed by the legitimate head of state. Please, call the embassies, consulates and foreign leaders. Please mention to them the FEMA camps, our corrupt media and corrupt judiciary and law enforcement.

Americans prefer their government to be run by their own government, thanks, and American foreign policy is NOT to be tampered with. Please, let’s just deport this traitor. It’s bad enough Birfoons want to apply foreign citizenship laws to US presidential eligibility, but I hope this latest is seen as the outrage it is, even by Birthers.

I’ve been saying that Dr. Orly Taitz Esq.’s revolting habit of posting people’s personal information on her website may be a bunch of lawsuits waiting to happen. I hope so.

Obama Conspiracy Theories tells a story this week that is kind of hair-raising:

The case of David R___

It’s a witch hunt over on Orly’s blog.

A while back someone posted a rather nasty comment on Orly’s blog including a death wish for Orly (that she be tried for sedition and hung).

…They took the center of that region, looked it up on Google maps, turned that into a street address, looked up the street address and found out who lived there. Orly then took this email “research” and posted the name, email address, street address, and place of employment of David R____, the unfortunate person the dart thrown at a map of the United States landed on.

Her acolytes tracked the IP address of the person who posted to the geographic region in which David R____ lives, more or less picked a house and decided David R____ lived in it, and searched his employer.

Orly then took this email “research” and posted the name, email address, street address, and place of employment of David R____, the unfortunate person the dart thrown at a map of the United States landed on.

…So David R____’s personal information has been posted on Orly’s web site along with the statement that he made death threats against her. Orly has taken the information from an e-mail and turned it into an article on her site. It has been reported that Mr. R____ has been called in for an explanation by his employer (the first time he knew anything about this business).

This is part of a pattern of associating things based on the smallest of similarities, for example, the claim that President Obama has dozens of different Social Security numbers, or that David R____ lived within a couple dozen miles (maybe) of the real culprit.

I think what Orly is doing is criminally irresponsible.

I do, too, Doc.

This is odd.

Drake dumps lawyer Taitz in suit challenging Obama birthplace
But the attorney says he can’t fire her because she’s kicked him off the case.

Orly Taitz, the Mission Viejo lawyer trying to get Barack Obama thrown out of office, says she’s had enough of two of her clients in the case and will continue without them.

Whoa, say the two.

“This is our case,” said Buena Park Pastor Wiley Drake, one of the two plaintiffs Taitz has unilaterally tried to have removed from the case.

The lawsuit challenges Obama’s birthplace and his legitimacy as president. The latest chapter in the drama started when Drake and Markham G. Robinson notified Taitz that they were replacing her as counsel. Taitz continues to represent 40 other plaintiffs in the federal case filed in Santa Ana….

Drake and Robinson are now being represented by Gary Kreep, who has previously worked for abortion foes and is counsel for the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Kreep said he is looking to make changes to Taitz’s filings.

I don’t know what to think of it, but this is what went on previously.

With Prejudice: Shut up and go away.

Clark Hamblin brought a lawsuit in the US District Court in Arizona, claiming Obama and McCain both committed crimes that violated his rights by participating in the 2008 General Election in Arizona, as neither candidate was eligible for the presidency, to Hamblin’s way of thinking, since they were not what he thinks of when somebody says “natural born citizens.”

On May 29, John McCain filed a Motion to Dismiss.

The court ruled on August 13 on McCain’s Motion to Dismiss:

The Constitution limits the jurisdiction of federal courts. U.S. Const. art. III § 2. One such limit is that a federal court cannot adjudicate a controversy unless it is brought by a party who has standing to sue. Schlesinger v. Reservists Comm. to Stop the War, 418 U.S. 208, 220 (1974). Standing to sue comes from having a sufficient stake in the controversy being presented. Sierra Club v. Morton, 405 U.S. 727, 731 (1972). But standing to sue may not be predicated upon an interest . . . held in common by all members of the public.” Schlesinger, 418 U.S. at 220.

Plaintiff’s alleged injuries flow from Plaintiff’s interest in voting for eligible candidates for elected office. Plaintiff’s interest is held in common by all members of the public. That common interest does not confer standing on Plaintiff. As a result, the Court cannot adjudicate Plaintiff’s complaint, and the case must be dismissed in its entirety.

Accordingly,

IT IS ORDERED that Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss (Doc. 18) is GRANTED.
FURTHER ORDERED that Plaintiff’s claims are DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE.
FURTHER ORDERED that all other pending motions (Docs. 11, 26, 31, 32) are DISMISSED AS MOOT.

DATED this 13th day of August, 2009.

In a second case involving Obama and McCain, brought by The Church of Jesus Christ Christian/Aryan Nations of Missouri, which was sealed by the court, and published by the Plantiffs (read only if you have a strong stomach for race hate):

ORDER granting [3] motion to dismiss; granting [9] motion to dismiss. Signed by District Judge Howard F. Sachs on 06/17/09. (Duer, Tina) Copy mailed to The Church of Jesus Christ Christian/Aryan Nations of Missouri,Pastor Martin Luther Lindstedt Newton County White Nationalist – Socialist Libertarian Party [address redacted] (McDowell, Shelly).

and

ORDER denying [12] motion to amend/correct; except that plaintiff may, within 30 days of this date, file an amended complaint in short and plain language, asserting the unconstitutionality of Sec. 115.355. RSMo. Signed by District Judge Howard F. Sachs on 8/4/2009. (McIlvain, Kelly)

This is not an Obot site:

If you have non-invasive, appropriate, and ethical means of documenting the many inconvenient/convenient “miscues” of Orly Taitz, in our pursuit of Constitutional Justice. And/or, if you have information on her background and allegiances…

…please post in comments here, or email arlenwilliams@yahoo.com

Thank you. I.O. will seek to assist you in appropriate, ethical ways.

Interesting.
