Expect to see this one turning up on the False Claim Email Circuit, if it hasn’t already started: “My name is Chanise Foxx” is how it begins.
A few days ago, I wrote The Bomford Fake Kenyan Birth Certificate, A Little Less Mystery, about the punkster responsible for the hoax last summer, still anonymous, but revealing himself and his methods recently in a Free Republic thread.
The same thread had another punkster, only this time it was an apparent Birther who ended up punking Birthers.
In that thread, a Freeper with the handle “BP2″ posted, including photographs and other illustrations, a clearly-marked fiction about a woman named Chanise Foxx in Illinois who claimed to have helped a DNC consultant create—not the Bomford Fake Kenyan Birth Certificate, not the Lucas Smith Fake Kenyan Birth Certificate, nor any of the several minor fake birth certificates floating around—but President Obama’s own Hawaiian birth certification as posted to his campaign web site to fight rumors that he was not a Christian. That document was physically verified by FactCheck, and most importantly, confirmed by the Hawaii Department of Health, (insofar as a digital document can be confirmed).
The Freeper BP2, trying to show the Bomford punxster how easy it was for anyone to fabricate a hoax, posted:

My name is Chanise Foxx. I work at a office supply store in Kenwood, IL. After nearly 3 years of silence and death threats to me and my family to stay quiet, I am compelled to come forward and tell the world my secret.
I helped Obama campaign staffer Divorah Edler create a fake birth certificate for use in the famous Fact Check story to prove the world of Obama’s birth in the 2008 election. Divorah approached me in early 2007 and held onto the birth certificate until she released it in August 2008.

The photo was added to a MySpace page for Chanise Foxx on March 9, 2010, as the initial post on that account. A Facebook account in the name of Chanise Foxx, with the same photo, was also created. Both say she works at Office Depot at the Hyde Park Shopping Center and lives in the city of “Kenwood IL,” which is actually a neighborhood in Chicago that borders or encompasses Hyde Park, where the home of President Barack Obama is located.
BP2, after developing his fictional story on March 6, said:

I could weave a fantastical story that would have you Libs chasing your tails for weeks trying to figure out what the hell is going on, feeding the beast with more twists and turns, real-time. We’ve done it to you before … we’ll do it to you again.
First thing on the morning of March 7, Citizen Wells, ignoring or unaware of the facts given by its creator identifying this story as false, posted it anyway, and Tweeted the link all over Rightwingland. The fake story traveled from Free Republic to Citizen Wells via a post by “Bobby” without the fiction label and the next morning was posted to its own thread by Citizen Wells. The Citizen Wells post went to Maggie’s Notebook, to Gateway Pundit, the comments section at American Grand Jury, to Birther Report, to The Betrayal, to the comment wall of ResistNet Mississippi, to Greta Wire, Orly Taitz’s web site*, and many others.
The Citizen Wells post also appeared on the Free Republic Yahoo Group. The Citizen Wells post even appeared as a separate thread on Free Republic, where it had all started on March 6.
One site, A Conservative Edge, posted the story but warned it did “not pass the smell test.” Whew!

Brooks Jackson at FactCheck.org wondered a few weeks ago:
We’re not sure why, but this false claim has been forwarded widely in recent days, judging by the number of queries we’ve received.
I can tell you why. It’s the Birther Minister of Hate, the lying James David Manning getting Birfoons all riled up again about this same old crazy.
It showed up on FreeRepublic on March 3, having traveled there from the American Grand Jury. On February 7, the wingers at AGJ announced:
We are pleased to announce the joining of forces with the Honorable Dr. and Pastor James David Manning of Harlem (Atlah), New York. …
Dr. Manning is an American Patriot with unquestioned spirit, drive and ability. We are marveled by his daily energy and commitment to awaken this Country and expose the evils within our society. One such evil is Barack Obama. At risk of life, career, family and followers Dr. Manning has directed a relentless campaign to expose Obama for the treasonous fraud that he is. When you look at Dr. Manning, you look a real man that lays it all on the line. …
Forthcoming within the next few days will be details of just how American Grand Jury will be involved. We will be a part of the “Columbia Trial” organized and directed by Dr. Manning. We will take marching orders from his organization. If he asks us to jump, our response will be, “how high?”
And in an email this week announcing an AGJ road trip in May, in which they plan to harass federal judges all over the country:
Half-way through the trip we will stop for a few days to take part in the Columbia Treason Trial being sponsored by Dr. James Manning in New York.
Yes, the liar James David Manning plans a public “trial” of Columbia University on May 14, for fraudulently granting a degree to Barack Obama, when the future president was really training in an Al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan, before Al Qaeda ever existed. I kid you not. Since Manning started his persecution of Columbia University, as yet another way of persecuting Barack Obama, in January, returns on Google search as of today are 867,000 English pages.
Even though American Grand Jury posted the content of this trash email on March 3, it did not originate there, obviously, since FactCheck was receiving it before February 16. In fact, it was already circulating by the SOTU in January, when it was posted in the comments section of an article on Breitbart’s Big Government site on January 28, and is still going strong.
I have always wondered why NO ONE ever came forward from Obama’s past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc. NO ONE, not one person has ever come forward from his past. VERY VERY STRANGE.
This should really be a cause for great concern.

This is very interesting stuff. Sort of adds credence to the idea of The Manchurian Candidate thing having happened here! Stephanopoulos of ABC news said the same thing during the 08? campaign. He too was a classmate of BO’s at Columbia class of 1984. He said he never had one class with him.
Was he there?
While he is such a great orator, why doesn’t anyone in Obama’s collegeclass remember him? Maybe he never attended class! Maybe he never attended Columbia ? He won’t allow Colombia to release his records either. Suspicious isn’t it???

Looking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him.
Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia . Ever! Nobody recalls him. I’m not exaggerating, I’m not kidding.
Root adds that he was also, like Obama, “Class of ‘83 political science, pre-law” and says, “You don’t get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don’t know anyone who ever met him.
At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who’s kind of the, as we say in New York , the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him. Is that not strange?
It’s very strange. “Obama’s photograph does not appear in the school’s yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia , provide schoolrecords, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia .
NOTE: Root graduated as Valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School, then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a PoliticalScience major (in the same class as President Barack Obama WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN IN).

A Columbia Classmate Remembers Obama
Thank you for refuting the crazed claims that Barack was not at Columbia ["Obama at Columbia University," Feb. 16].
I knew him while he was there. He was remarkable then, but not in the way that most people think of as “remarkable.” He was not trying to be noticed — he was studious and thoughtful. I said of him: “Whatever Barack decides to do for a career, he will be the best at it.” When he left our group he was often on his way to a library.
We played soccer on the lawn in front of Butler — I was usually the only woman playing and he treated me as equally as the others: if I was open, he sent the ball into the space in front of me, if I wasn’t open — he never made the silly passes that some men did to try to act like they were being egalitarian. The “into the space” passing was consistent — he was a superior strategist — and many of us had been college or semi-pro players. We always wanted him on our team.
After games we had discussions — and we found that the same thoughtfulness of play was evident in his thinking about policy and social issues. He was a serious guy, but always had a ready laugh or twinkle in his eye.
I was doing my Ph.D. — I assumed he was a fellow grad student. When I saw him on television at the Democratic Convention I was only surprised that I knew him, but entirely not surprised at his achievement.
The people who are making these claims, Fox et al, do not understand Columbia. I recently told a father of a current student that he should visit the campus on a warm Friday night to see the school environment that is uniquely CU — it is the same as when I studied there: hundreds of us sitting on the library steps doing school work on laptops.

This false claim email from 2004 that made the rounds when the monument was dedicated is being revived five years later. I received this today:
SHALL WE HIRE A MONUMENT ENGRAVER TO GO TO ARLINGTON NATIONA LCEMETERY AND ADD THE MISSING WORDS?
THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM AN APPALLED OBSERVER:
Today I went to visit the new World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. I got an unexpected history lesson. Because I’m a baby boomer, I was one of the youngest in the crowd. Most were the age of my parents, Veterans of ‘the greatest war,’ with their families. It was a beautiful day, and people were smiling and happy to be there. Hundreds of us milled around the memorial, reading the inspiring words of Eisenhower and Truman that are engraved there.
On the Pacific side of the memorial, a group of us gathered to read the words President Roosevelt used to announce the attack on Pearl Harbor:
Yesterday, December 7, 1941– a date which will live in infamy–the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked.
One elderly woman read the words aloud:
‘With confidence in our armed forces, with the abounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph.’
But as she read, she was suddenly turned angry. ‘Wait a minute,’ she said, ‘they left out the end of the quote. They left out the most important part. Roosevelt ended the message with ‘so help us God.’
Her husband said, ‘You are probably right. We’re not supposed to say things like that now.’
‘I know I’m right,’ she insisted. ‘I remember the speech.’ The two looked dismayed,
shook their heads sadly and walked away.
Listening to their conversation, I thought to myself, ‘Well, it has been over 50 years; she’s probably forgotten.’
But she had not forgotten. She was right.
I went home and pulled out the book my book club is reading — ‘Flags of Our Fathers’ by James Bradley. It’s all about the battle at Iwo Jima.
I haven’t gotten too far in the book. It’s tough to read because it’s a graphic description of the WWII battles in the Pacific.
But right there it was on page 58. Roosevelt’s speech to the nation ends in ‘so help us God.’
The people who edited out that part of the speech when they engraved it on the memorial could have fooled me. I was born after the war! But they couldn’t fool the people who were there. Roosevelt’s words are engraved on their hearts.
Now I ask: ‘WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE WORDS OF HISTORY?????????’

Anyhow, the WWII memorial is nowhere near Arlington National Cemetery, it’s on the National Mall. I’ve been there.
FDR’s speech after Pearl Harbor ends not with “so help me God,” but with: “I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.”
The quote in the email is a later sentence than the one carved from FDR’s speech, the whole speech is not on there, and that sentence quoted in the email is not carved anywhere, so no old lady could have read it aloud:
“With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph. So help us God.”
The real carving on the memorial from FDR’s speech is:
DECEMBER 7, 1941, A DATE WHICH WILL LIVE IN INFAMY…NO MATTER HOW LONG IT MAY TAKE US TO OVERCOME THIS PREMEDITATED INVASION, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, IN THEIR RIGHTEOUS MIGHT, WILL WIN THROUGH TO ABSOLUTE VICTORY.

Obama had nothing to do with this stamp, which was first issued during President George W. Bush’s administration, on Aug. 1, 2001, honoring two Muslim holidays, including Eid al-Fitr, the first day following the month of Ramadan, a period of fasting and religious observances. The stamp first came out at 34 cents, the prevailing first class rate at the time. It has been reissued several times whenever that rate increased.
